I offer affordable and flexible Coggins testing. The lab is open and ready to serve your EIA laboratory needs.
We are a certified USDA laboratory for Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA) and are committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy in all of our testing services.
No specific time restrictions for Coggins testing set-ups. We can work with your schedule Monday through Friday. Last set-ups are 3:00 pm for Elisa and 4:00 pm for AGID.
We are dedicated to making Coggins testing more affordable in Marion County, Florida, and all the United States. Drop-off or mail-in samples are accepted.
The EIA/Coggins testing (AGID) requires a 24 hour window. Weak positive samples do not show up as positive until the last couple of hours of incubation. The last set-up of the day is at 4:00 pm.
The EIA/Coggins testing (Elisa) can be completed within a 2-hour window. The time frame depends on if other testing is currently in progress. You are welcome to sit in our garden if you are waiting on paper forms, or we can notify you when they are ready. The last set-up of the day must be at the laboratory by 3:00.
While we are happy to accept the paper forms from Class II veterinary practices, we also accept the USDA approved digital formats via Global Vet Link and VSPS.
If Laurie is away from the laboratory, you can drop off your samples in the refrigerator to the left of the building. You may also use the file box above the refrigerator to drop off and pick up completed forms.
The USDA recommends nematode egg counting in fecal samples prior to deworming your horses. Bag a fresh sample (less than 12 hours) and keep it in a cooler until you can bring it to the lab.
Sunshine Vet Lab is a Coggins testing / EIA laboratory serving the equine veterinary industry.
The EIA laboratory is located in Marion County, just West of Ocala. The laboratory is between CR 328 and SR 40 off of SR 41. The property is a corner lot with a driveway on the side street (SW 20th St).
